Description

Adequate cover is essential to prevent corrosive agents from reaching the reinforcement steel through cracks and pervious concrete.

The thickness of the cover required depends on the severity of the exposure and the quality of the concrete. The cover is also necessary to protect the reinforcement steel against a rapid rise in temperature and substituent loss of strength during a fire.

Concrete spacers have been developed to meet the demands of the nominal cover to all reinforcement steel as required by the industrial standard.
